I'm always afraid of physical pain. Like having tooth extractions, curing wounds, etc. It seems that I have a low tolerance when it comes to physical pain.
But never in my wildest dreams would I think of engaging into a blood letting activity! The sight of needles alone already gives me pain, an imaginary pain, of course. But I did gave my blood away. And it felt very rewarding . For two main reasons: I conquered my fear and i am of help to those who need blood. Dang! I'm so proud of myself.
But to tell you, the whole process was so funny! I received lots of encouragement
especially when the nurse started to put in the needle. My supporters, who were also my audience, were all eyes on me. So I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and held my office mate's hand, and then bang! It didn't hurt! Maybe because of the fact that I anticipated a big amount of pain and only to find out that it didn't hurt even a bit.
This was really one of the funniest yet rewarding experience I had! But salute to me!
